L'Associazione Servizio Civile internazionale (SCI) offre l'opportunità di fare un soggiorno attivo e organizzato negli Stati Uniti d'America. SCI propone infatti progetti LTV (volontariato a lungo termine = 6-12 mesi) negli USA nell'ambito della protezione ambientale e dell'inclusione sociale. Short description
Patim is an NGO specialised in raising awareness on addictions and other behavioural problems. The organisation provides treatments and helps drug addicts towards professional reinsertion. The volunteers will help by implementing and evaluating an educational programme called "A new masculinity in the 21st century: gender violence awareness". It is directed towards patients of the day centre and of the therapeutic community, also called the residential unit of desintoxication (UDR) of Patim. According to a study held in various Spanish regions, 53% of women with addictions had been victims of violent behaviour from their partners.

Short description
The Gruebisbalm Community has been running the organic farm, located on a beautiful spot above the lake Vierwaldstättersee for years. Gruebisbalm is a remote place, not accessible by car, but only by a small railway. The lively community, consisting of six to eight people, shares a detached old farmhouse and offers people in need a place and chance to share life and work in a natural surrounding. There is also cultural exchange taking place on the farm, different workshops are hold in the community is own hall.

The Abbaye de Fontaine-André is a guesthouse. The abbey has its own farm (Bio Suisse) and is located in a beautiful area above the lake of Neuchâtel. From here, you have a great view of the lake and the mountains (the Alps). The abbey can be reached from the center of Neuchâtel: 10 min bus ride plus a 15 min walk through the forest. Around 12 people (between 4 and 70 years old) live and work in this "open monastery".

Short description
Tasks:
- communicating about our projects
- placing french volunters in international workcamps and foreign volunteers in our workcamps in France
- if possible, leading a workcamp

The PO will be working from 10 AM to 6 PM, with one hour break (13-14), 5 days a week. During his LTV period, 10 days off will be given + national holidays and week-ends.

* capacity to work autonomously and seriously
* good IT skills
* excellent communication skills to motivate the volunteers
* open attitude to interculturality
The PO will be accomodated, will receive a subscription to the city bike service and pocket money.
He/she will receive a PO training as well as a workcamp leader training, and will be supported by our working team all along.

6. OWA Poland - Drug and alcohol addicts center

Accommodation and food: own room in the Center and in big tents during trips; food also provided in the community centre.
Requirements: no drug or alcohol problem at present
Special info: No drugs, no alcohol, no sex. Smoking allowed. Not accessible for wheelchairs.
Study: The problem of drug addiction, anti-drug therapy, multiculturalism.

Long description:
SCI Poland has been successfully co-operating with Monar for 12 years already. Monar is the biggest Polish NGO dealing with drug and alcohol addicts, homeless people and HIV infected. The one in Marianowek (near Kolobrzeg) is a centre dealing mainly with drug addicts. It is situated in the picturesque sea cost in the north part of Poland, a bit far from the hectic cities. In the Monar Marianowek there are about 30 patients, between 20-30 years old, who work and live together undergoing a group therapy.
Work: The main task of volunteer is to socialise with the community, by helping them in their everyday work (gardening, cleaning, working in the kitchen, renovating etc.) and taking part in leisure time activities with them. Games, camp-fires, sport activities, workshops with/for the residents will bring fresh energy and relaxation to the centre. There will be also the camping trip to the beautiful area on the lakeside and the mountains.
