
The first 2008 appointment was the Peace Camp that was held in Naples from 5th to 25th October 2008. Over 200 youths coming from the five continents spent in Naples a unique experience made of meetings, discussions, and theatre, music, sport and cinema related activities. They also attended the "Concerto della Pace" (Concert for Peace), a sort of Neapolitan "Live Aid", with artists
of international renown.
The education project "peace maker at school" was conceived respecting the choice of making the Forum not only an event but also a path to enable young generations of the city to grow up according to the values promoted by the Forum and by the Unesco. The project is part of a broader 5 year education project that will discuss, thanks to the expertise of the scientific institutions involved, every year starting from 2008 and up to 2013, one of the 5 topics characterizing the Forum.

In 27th and 28th March 2009 was held the first workshop where mayors and representatives of local governments of the entire world met in Naples to discuss the "Inclusive City". During this meeting some central issues were discussed, particularly those related to the processes determining social exclusion in the contemporary city, through the exchange of experiences and proposals. The two day Neapolitan meeting concluded with the participation, among the others, of Massimo D'Alema and Marcello Veneziani.
The participation to the round table "Naples Connected" was part of the initiatives for the involvement of the city of Naples, and of its people, who will be the true protagonist in 2013.
Four European cities for four great cultural events: Turin for Italy 150 2011, Marseille European Capital of Culture 2013, Naples for the Universal Forum of Cultures 2013, and Milan for the Expo 2015, met 15th May 2009 to discuss the topic of culture as driver of social and economic development in Naples.
