Two great moments, apart from traditional meetings of the whole demostration May of Monuments, are the ones related to the project "Open-Air Museum" and "School adopts a Monument". Two distinct projects in the approach but with an only common denominator: to take visitors and tourists, big and small, in the discovery of the neapolitan area and its beauties and where the main characters, with the associations, are students and pupils of the different schools.

The project "Ope-Air Museum" was born in 1994 from an initiative of the same communal Administration, agreed by Soprintendenze ai B.A.A., ai B.A.S. e Archeologica, with the Archbishop's See of Naples and with many civic Institutions and Associations, with the aim to restore to the public fruition historical and artistic evidences that lie in the area.

Thanks to a set of interventions that involve mainly the old town center with its rich artistic heritage - included by UNESCO on the List of Patrimonio Mondiale dell'Umanità - some of the most prestigious monumental buildings have been reopened to the public, thanks to the aid of the municipal staff and of Lavoratori socialmente utili, some of the most impressive buildings, situated along "Vie dell' Arte", are Decumano Maggiore (via Tribunali), Decumano Inferiore (Spaccanapoli), Decumano Superiore (Anticaglia) e l'itinerary from Piazza Plebiscito to Piazza San Domenico Maggiore.

The project starts from the acknowledge of the central position of the school in the education of the citizen behaviours. It identifies in the young generations the priviligied person for the imposition of a new awereness of the Arts. What does awareness mean? It means: to learn how to acknowledge the Arts like monumental emergency and antropological handiwork, engraved in the social and cultural stucture of a community, symbol of identity and medium of feelings such as: solidarity and sharing.
