The cultural initiative "The Art in the Window" will start on november first days and it will end on January 6th 2008. It is promoted by the Association Historic Borgo St. Eligio with the sponsorship of the Department of Commerce of Naples, of the UNESCO club Naples and the partecipation of the shopkeepers and craftsmen working in Borgo St. Eligio.
This year this precious cultural manifestation comes to its VI edition. It is aimed to promote and appreciate St. Eligio borgo. After the conclusion of the III contest of Extemporary Painting with the prizegiving of the artists on last September 15th, continue with "The Art in the Window" the activities that aims to a fundamental target, that is to say the introduction of Borgo St. Eligio in the turistic itinerary evolved in our city.
The turistic and cultural relaunching could happen only within a project of contextual relaunching of the craftmade and commercial activities which represent an important part of the ancient tradition history in the Borgo St. Eligio and Piazza Mercato area.
Thanks to the sensibility and willingness of the artists and shopkeepers, the windows of the village will be dressed with the exposition of paintings accomplished with various techniques. So this initiative, gives a chance to the artists to expose their works, and moreover tries to bring Art near people bringing everybody in the streets and it will be also a valid contribution to the cultural and economic development, and social integration.
Every exposed works then will form a huge group exhibition that will be housed, for kind authorization of the Municipality of Naples, in the church of St. Severo al Pendino in Via Duomo, 286.
The exhibition will be opened on January 16th 2008 from 5,00 p.m. and will be visible every day from 9,00 a.m. to 6,00p.m., except Sunday, till February 4th.
