In the '80s it had been reopened but the caves were ruined and so it had been closed again.
In 2002, thanks to the major Rosa Iervolino Russo and the alderman of the Civil Protection Ferdinando di Mezza, it had been established a project to make the caves secure.
Works ended in May 2006 and it had been opened.
