Mediterranean: mare nostrum. Photographs between lands and sea

From June 14th, 2014 Castel dell'Ovo will host the exhibition "Mediterranean: mare nostrum", photographs between lands and sea, curated by Patrizia Varone, promoted and produced by "Lo Cunto" Social Promotion Association and sponsored by the City of Naples, Campania Region, the European Commission. The exhibition represents a first step towards the discoveryof present and time and cultural identities of the Mediterranean countries plumbed through the watchful eye of 10 photographers who work in this area for the sake of the seventh art, artistic research.
The exhibition features about 100 images taken by necessity to record, dealing with themese of the present time, or for the the necessity to investigate and deepen the relations with their countries of origin.
The exhibition explores, such as headlights that light up shot of a part of the sea, some realities of the Mediterranean countries. The interdisciplinary and intergenerational dialogue in this exhibition are woven amalgamating into one, creating questions and raises doubts, the entire exhibition. Genres and languages ​​interact and engage for a photograph more and more close to the "human" factor, to the person and his social relations as an essential value. They are photographs that pose dilemmas such as memory and dignity. Images that immortalize the journey, suffering, knowledge, research, memory.
Photographs showing the Mediterranean as intertwining of culture, of trade, of mobility, of sociability.
