Gaiola Spring

Saturday 26th and Sunday, April 2th7 and Sunday, May 4th, 2014

The spring is period in which along Posillipo coast the colors of the Mediterranean landscape appear, the red Aizoceae cover the yellow tuff walls, thus giving beauty and harmony to a coastal landscape that is a unique beauty in the world. This place has always fascinated people that here passed and itss traces can be rediscovered above and below the sea surface.
This year as wll, the CSI Gaiola non-profit organization wants to pay homage to the awakening of spring with a full calendar of Cultural Appointments and Guided tours, aimed at highlighting and discover the wonders of the Bay of Naples. Literary events, evenings of meditation, guided tours between land and sea, and, on the anniversary of the rediscovery of Seiano Grotto, a traveling seminar on the trail of the men who first described, lived and paid homenage with their studies to these places.
The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the cultural association Galassia Gutenber, in agreement with the Archaeological Superintendence of Naples and Naples City Council, Department for Culture and Tourism.

On the occasion of the anniversary (5th May 1840), the rediscovery of Seiano Grotto by the King of Naples, Ferdinand II of Bourbon and the consequent massive excavation work the same, CSI Gaiola non-profit organization offers a seminar traveling back in time. Not a classic guided tour, but an unusual journey in the footsteps of the men who discovered, described, experienced and honored these places with their studies, their talent, but also with their works of art, testimony today of an era of 'gold in which the whole world rediscovered the Roman Pausilypon ...

Between Land and Sea
Historical-naturalistic itineraries to discover the Imperial Pausilypon...
As always during spring, guided tours designed to discover, above and below the sea, the unique wonders of the Protected Marine Area "Gaiola Underwater Park" and the "Archaeological Park-Environmental Pausilypon."
Different routes will highlight the different peculiarities of these places through "different points of view," using routes by land, by sea (Aquavisio, Kayaking), in the sea (snorkeling and diving) and integrated land and sea. The visits will discuss the historical and archaeological component, nature, not to mention the many myths and legends full of mystery which over the centuries have affected the coast of Posillipo and Gaiola in a particular way.
