The Cinema Vittoria promotes culture

THE CINEMA VITTORIA CELEBRATES 75 YEARS

After the closing down ofthe multiplex Arcobaleno, the Association AGIS states "We avoid the depletion of social and cultural life of our city". While many historic cinemas are closing down in Italy and the crisis of the cinema sector is even more scathing (as for instance the obligation of the digitalization and thereduction of the incomes), the Cinema Vittoria, a single-screen cinema inNaples, is going to inaugurate another screen, moreover it will celebrate its75 years this year.

Vittoria is the only cinema, together with the Modernissimo, to have the new Sony 4K digital projector (that is the most efficient way to enhance the film on the big screen compared to the 2Kinstalled in the majority of the cinemas).

The cinema Vittoria was inaugurated in 1939. In order to celebrate this event, the company SPEC Cinematografica promotes an alternative and interesting programme based on the digitalization, a tool that can satify everyone.

The first show will be "Pompei", the acclaimed documentary by The British Museum which traces the history of 79 a.C. The projection will take place on the 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th of February.

Saint Valentine's day will be celebrated with the projection of the romantic movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's" by Edwards' Breakfast with AudreyHepburn. The movie was made using the 4K technique, audience will have the possibility to join it at Cinema Vittoria.

More movies will be presented. "Aida" by Giuseppe Verdi, "Spaghetti Story (February, 26th), "La'-bas", which will be presented on the 5th of March by Guido Lombardi and Gaetano di Vaio.

On March, 11th, "Enzo Avitabile Music Life" the documentary by Jonathan Demme, a movie which was born after the meeting between the two great talents of Naples.

On the 18th of March Alessandro Rak will present the movie"The Art of Happiness", that is gaining a great feedback not only inItaly but in the rest of the world as well.

This event represents a way to celebrate the anniversary of the cinema and to face the main difficulties of everyday life. Moreover it represents a tool to keep active the nightlife of Vomero-Arenella district that is turning into a commuter area, where the different forms of culture (cinema, libraries) have no more space to express themselves.

The cinema Vittoria can be reached by public transports: Undergroundline 1 - stop: Medaglie d'oro.
Four car parks are available.
