The Association "Casa del Popolo" of Ponticelli will present the photographic exhibition "Napoli allo specchio" by Giorgio Di Dato.
The exhibition is a reflection of Giorgio Di Dato's journey through the streets of Naples. His "journey" deals with a topic that is applicable to all the modern metropolis: the relationship between the city center and suburbs.
The description of Naples presented by Di Dato is far away from the stereotypical and traditional pointof view reflected by postcards, which often mask the real essence of the city. His shots reveal ordinary daily life, crossing all those places that are never explored and that through Di Dato's interpretation present a more intimate beauty, new yearning aspects characterized by a new humanity. The aim of thisinitiative is to give voice to a shy and sensitive artist that is animated byan extraordinary passion for photography.
"Napoli allo specchio" is the testimony of a civic and cultural engagementthat never retrocedes even with the advancement of a degraded condition that affects the suburbs areas of the city. This suburb is able of reacting, it tries to takes over the democratic spaces and the ancient values that for along time characterized the social life of our society, that in front of the violence opposes the hope of a civil and cultural ransom of the entire city.
