GHETTO NOBILE - III INTERNATIONAL edition

The music festival Ghetto Nobile goes to its third edition, arranged by "Estate a Napoli" by the the assessor to the Culture of Comune di Napoli and by the association Jesce Sole, this year will bring a wave of international taste with foreign artists that are performing at Maschio Angioino, in a prestigious frame, on 11th of september untill 13th, at 9.00pm (info and booking 081/5520906). Taking cue from a song sentence " the ghetto it's an equal carnal multinational" (cit. V7), the third edition of kermesse opens to the foreign artists that, thanks to the music, could mark a turning point to their lives, embodying the concept of " Ghetto Nobile".
Characters of "Ghetto Nobile 2012" will be: AMADOU & MARIAM from Mali, the senegalese CHEIKH LO, in Naples for the first time on Maschio Angioino stage, Z-STAR, an english artist, accustomed to the "Bel Paese" for several collaborations with italian musicians.
Not only international names, will take part to the shows also Neapolitan artists. Concerts will be uniques and unrepeatables: every foreign artist will duet with Neapolitan musicians such as Ciccio Merolla, Antonio Onorato and Enzo Avitabile who he's coming directly from the 69° edition of Venice Exhibition, protagonist of the  docu- film" Enzo Avitabile music Life" by Jonathan Demme.
"Ghetto Nobile International" presents to citydwellers and foreigners,  shows with big artists that will give us a fusion between our great musical culture and the international ones. The kermesse consists in a three-days concerts to make bigger the concept of "ghetto" through music, one of the universal canal that excites people, giving them energy and life.

AMADOU & MARIAM (MALI) special guest Ciccio Merolla
Amadou & Mariam are a coulpe of musicians from Mali. Amadou Bagayoko it's a guitarist and Mariam Doumbia it's the vocalist. The duet, known as the blind couples of Mali, was born in the Institute for young blinds of Mali where Bagayoko and Doumbia met up and shared the passion for music. The musical style of couples is based on contaminations between internationals music  of Mali and rock guitars, syrian violins, cuban trumpet  and others traditionals instruments of  Egypt, Colombia, India. With their african blues sound have cooperating with artists such as Manu Chao, Jovanotti and in 2006 have registered with Herbert Grönemeyer the official Hymn of World Cup Germany 2006. The song has riched the first place on the german music-charts during that time.

Z-STAR (UNITED KINGDOM) special guest Antonio Onorato
Z-Star was born in London from parents of Trinidad. She's art daughter: her father plays in a jazz band while her mother is a pianist. Her debut album it's WHO LOVES LIVE (2004). After a while, in 2010, she publishes her second work, a mixture of jazz and blues, MASOCHISTS & MARTYRS, registered in Italy with italian musicians.

CHEIKH LO (SENEGAL) special guest Enzo Avitabile
Cheikh Lo: was born in  Bobo Dioulasso in  Burkina Faso, starts playing percussions since he was a kid; in 1978 he moves in Senegal to go in for mbalax, one of the most famous musical genre of Senegal. In 1987 he moves to Paris where he elaborates his personal style that joins raggae with mbalax sound and soukos influence of Congo. He has cooperated with Youssou N'Dour, Les Nubias and Manu Dibango
