Theater, music, dance, gastronomy, nature. These are the ingredients of "Naples Village Festival" 's first edition, a summer kermesse planned at the Agnano's Thermal Baths from 13th July to 9th September. This event is organized by Italy Communication and Laboratori & Laboratori Flegrei with the artistic device and organization by Bruno Garofalo, the artistic coordination by Komiko Productiona and the Village services and advance sales by Azzurro Services.
Twenty years later its debut at the Politeama Theatre in Naples, "Novecento Napoletano" has returned on Friday 13th July with a new-look edition. This musical retraces the golden time of Classic Neapolitan Music, from the chant of Raffaele Viviani's Feast of Piedigrotta. Scenographies, immersed in the natural beauty of the Termal Baths, will offer to the public an unpublished and original glance. In the cast: Federico Salvatore, Rosaria de Cicco and 100 artists among musicians, actors, dancers and walkers-on. The direction is by Bruno Garofalo. There will be two repeats on 28th July and 4th August.
On 27th July and 3rd August there will be "Hotel Desdemona", a show by and with Francesco Paolantoni who debuted last April at Acacia Theater of Naples with a great critical and audience success. The play sees on the stage with Paolantoni: Tonino Taiuti, Susy del Giudice, Arduino Speranza, Lucia Rocco and Giampiero Schiano. The original music are by Antonio Annona and scenographies by Roberto Crea. The public will be involved in an absolute innovation: as in DVDs, they will be able to see cut scenes and special inserts.
On 2nd August Mario Biondi will perform with the Big Orchestra. On 26th August, the Oscar-winner Nicola Piovani will propose "I Viaggi di Ulisse" ("Ulysses's journeys"), a mythological concert for instruments and voices. In addition to Novecento Napoletano (28th July and 4th August) and Hotel Desdemona (27th July and 3rd August) there will be Pietra Montecorvino's "Malamusik" recital (26th July), a meeting with Nepolitan Tradition by Peppe Barra (29th July), 24 Grana's stage of "La stessa barca" Tour (5th August), Isa Danieli's performance in "Fragile" (9th August), "Teresa the thief" with Mariangela D'Abbraccio (10th August), Radio Argo's provocation proposed by Peppino Mazzotta - winner of Associazione Critica Letteraria Award - (28th August), Nino Buonocore's jazz atmospheres (30th August), James Senese's sax (1st September), Peppe Servillo and Quintetto dell'Amante Improvviso (the Sudden Lover's Quintet)'s refined sonorities (8th August).
All Wednesdays there will be Food & Live Music: the details and the calendar will be announced soon. In the Village a pizzeria and some stands will offer to the public samples and tastings of all Campanian gastronomic specialities.
