Exhibitions

The structure of the 2005 program is organized and divided into three different thematic and temporal sections. The theme of the first program block deals with the image of the artist in the modern society, his expertise and responsibility, but above all his being a catalyst of different social, ideological and cultural processes. The post-utopian society gives intellectuals a specific role: first of all they have to take into consideration the need to elaborate new values, reflecting different survival strategies; secondly, they are asked to create tolerant and open micro communities.

The second program block aims to show the cultural situation of Naples with the help of artistic foundations, collectors, managers of art galleries, artists, critics, historians, publishers and so on. The exhibition of this second stage will be dedicated to the artistic activity of the city, which so far has been able to enliven and enrich Naples in a way that it can now be compared to other international metropolises. This way the PAN proves to be a multidisciplinary forum for all Parthenopean artistic activity.

The third program block lays stress on the artistic relationship between Central Europe and the Mediterranean. These two big cultural regions are very important landmarks for the European cultural scenario as they reveal common identity elements, above all in the framework of the new multicultural Europe.

The exhibition conceived for the third program block presents artists from Central and Mediterranean Europe, who show aesthetical attitudes and authentic visions of their homeland within a complex and profoundly pluralist cultural context.
