- Acquire information about bathing in the city, about the type of permissions and procedures necessary to carry out events and information on the national maritime domain;

 

Flags are a conventional way to indicate the weather and sea areas intended for bathing

Blue flag
It is hosted when weather and sea conditions are good. In this case, swimming is permitted.
 
Yellow flag 
It stands for the obligation of closing umbrellas in presence of strong winds. It is hosted when during the lunch break there is only one lifeguard instead of two.

Red flag
It is hosted when the sea state is dangerous, when bathing is dangerous or when there are no lifeguards.

 
 

Handbook for a proper use of beaches

  1. Respect the beach, the coast, the flora and fauna of the sea-coast;
  2. Do not leave trash on the beaches and on the rocks;
  3. In public beaches, use a plastic bag to collect your waste;
  4. Remember that to dispose of our waste, the beach needs 2 months for an apple core, 5 years for a chewing gum, 300 years for a plastic bottle and 2000 years for a glass;
  5. Separate glass, steel, aluminum, plastic and paper;
  6. Use soap and shampoo-shower only in specifically equipped areas;
  7. Do not disturb the neighbors of beach with noisy games nor with loud music;
  8. Do not swim if there is a red flag is hosted on the beach;
  9. Teach children to love the sea and to have fun on the beach.

9 Good rules to be observed for a hassle-free bathing

 

1. Always check to have enough fuel and an additional margin as well, unexpected events can occur;
2. Check the safety equipment in relation to navigation and to be performed the number of people on board. It is always prudent to have on board the oars, flares, abailer, ropes for mooring, candles spare key and sandpaper;
3. Never carry more people than the number the boat is approved to;
4. Distribute the load on board;
5. Never approach the shore, especially in sea areas reserved for swimming, with the engine running, in these areas use the oars;
6 Before you head out to sea inquire with local experts if there are dry or not reported dangerous areas and outcropping rocks;
7. Inquire about the weather conditions of the sea;
8. Help those who have problems in the sea;
9. Before going out to sea, communicate to your family or friends the route and the estimated time for return; they are useful pieces of information, in case ofdifficulty and unablility to communicate with you;
10. It is forbidden to motor within 300 meters from the shore and 200 meters from the cliffs;
11. Respect the rules.

1. Do not swim if you are not in good physical and mental condition;
2. Even if you are a good swimmer, do not force your body;
3. After a long exposure to the sun enter into the water gradually;
4. Spend at least 3 hours after eating before swimming;
5. Do not enter into the water when the red flag is hosted;
6 If you can not swim, stay in shallow water;
7. Do not go beyond the buoys that mark the safe area for bathing;
8. Do not shy away from the beach over 50 m using mats, floats or small inflatable boats;
9. Avoid diving from the rocks.
