The Foundation

The organizational structures of the previous editions of the Universal Forum of Cultures, held in Barcelona and Monterrey, created a Foundation as a technical and operational instrument. Also Naples, since the assignment of the fourth edition of the Forum, felt the need to create a Foundation for the Universal Forum of Cultures, Naples 2013.
 
May 28th 2009 the Town Council, based on the proposal of the Mayor Rosa Iervolino Russo and of the Alderman for Culture Nicola Oddati, approved the relevant deliberation of proposal to the Town Council. After a harsh debate in the relevant commissions of the Council, lasted various months, the deliberation has been approved for its registration in the agenda of the most important Assembly of the City. Following the long and articulated discussion during the Town Council of September 29th 2009, that saw the presentation of various amendments both from the majority and from the opposition, the deliberation was approved.
 
With the session of February 10th 2010 the deliberation for the creation of the Foundation returned in the Town Council to be approved, again by majority, following the changes brought by the Town Council. The changes concerned mainly the composition of the BOD and the one of the operational committee.
 
February 17th 2010 the Foundation of the Universal Forum of Cultures 2013 was created. The Mayor Rosa Iervolino Russo and the President Antonio Bassolino appointed President of the Foundation the Alderman for Culture of the Town of Naples Nicola Oddati. Prof. Michele Scudiero and Prof. Gabriella Cundari were appointed Directors. Dr. Mario Bologna was appointed CEO.
