2008

2008 has been the year dedicated to peace and on this topic the Universal Forum of Cultures has been protagonist in Naples with a series of initiatives that had as objective the promotion of peace, of human rights and of the fundamental values promoted by the UNESCO.

First of all, in October has been realized the Peace Camp: a moment of meeting and sharing between boys and girls coming from all over the world. Contemporarily begun the educational programme for the one hundred students of Neapolitan schools, of every educational stage, that was integrated in their school programmes with educational material and initiatives of various kind, always in relation to the theme of the peace. A meaningful example has been the preview of the video "Stories on Human Rights", conceived and edited by Adelina von Fürstenberg on the occasion of the 60° Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
 
The film is a feature film lasting 88 minutes produced by ART for The World and is composed by 22 short films directed by international directors and artists. Every short is inspired by one of the six themes that make up the Declaration: culture, development, dignity and justice, environment, gender, and participation. The video was delivered to all the schools adhering to the project and integrates the educational material on human rights.
