Maggio dei monumenti 2009

Discovering a city means to read its story. Each monument, palace, cloister tells us something.
This statement is suitable for Naples. Only in few other places more than 2000 years of history can be read and lived in a little space and in such an extraordinary way.
The journey towards the discovery of Naples, follows more dimensions, from the horizontal one which includes the seaport and the historical centre, to the vertical one which includes the Vomero hill that arrives to the nether city; this represents a fascinating, mystical and mysterious world aside. This year , the 15th edition of Maggio dei Monumenti, invites you to make a particular journey, in which you will be accompanied by people who tell, decode the languages and communicate the city.
This will be possible thanks to the collaboration of one of the main cultural urban realities: Fondazione Premio Napoli, which involves many Neapolitan narrators who every May's week end, will meet the public in the places which they will have chosen and have been source of inspiration for some of their works.
The inaugural event will be a party in honour of Fabrizio De Andrè, 10 years after his death.
Maggio dei Monumenti 2009 will end with a cabaret show by Moni Ovadia.
