Choose Naples for your holiday and discover its art and zest for life

Yes, because the city's cultural heritage and unusual charm make Naples one of the most beautiful of the European capitals of international tourism to visit.

The whole history of the city is, in fact, based on the concept of welcoming foreigners and of different cultures living side by side.

The city's enviable geographical position half-way down the Italian coast makes it easy to reach from anywhere in the world.

The port, airport, railway stations, motorways and TAV or high-speed train service, have made the city a major interchange in the Mediterranean, and also provide links with the economies and cultures of Northern Europe and America.

Getting to Naples, therefore is extremely easy. It is even easier to get around the city itself. There are three underground train lines and one of these, Line 1, is known as the "Art Metro" because of the numerous contemporary works of art housed within the stations. There are also three funicular services which provide access to some of the most beautiful viewpoints in the city on top of the Vomero and Posillipo hills.

Service buses, trams and taxis offer an easy and comfortable way of visiting the city. As far as tickets go, a handy weekly pass or daily Artecard are reasonably priced and give you free access to the city's museums as well as unlimited transport round the city.
