2010

2010 is the year devoted to knowledge. It opened with Forum Lab, the first happening of the Universal Forum of Cultures 2013 with all the public and private cultural and social operators, the associations, the Foundations, the migrant communities, the galleries, the Research Institutes, the Universities. With the signature, in Paris, of the convention with the Unesco that granted its participation in the Neapolitan edition of the Universal Forum of Cultures of the 193 member countries and with the first testimonial of the Forum: Pat Metheny, international jazz artist and one of the most famous guitarists of the world. 
 
February 17th 2010, after the definitive approval of the Town Council, the Universal Forum of Cultures Foundation was created. The Mayor Rosa Iervolino Russo and the President Antonio Bassolino appointed President Nicola Oddati, CEO Mario Bologna, and Directors Michele Scudiero and Gabriella Cundari. Immediately after was held the official meeting, in Barcelona, with the Manager of the Foundacio Forum, Mireia Belil. "The definitive creation - said Mireia Belil - of the Universal Forum of Cultures Naples 2013 Foundation, represents a great step to consolidate the project in Naples 2013." 
 
February 19th 2010, day of the twentieth birthday of Annalisa Durante, victim of a clash of camorra in the district of Forcella in the evening of March 27th 2004, was inaugurated PiazzaForcella (former supercinema Forcella) one of the centres of the Forum of Cultures, a Forum that will not be limited to the 101 days of 2013 in Bagnoli but will be an event of the city and for the city. 
 
With Eduardo Galeano, one of the greatest exponents of the literature sudamericana, March 5 th 2010, near the Theater St. Ferdinando, the first dialogue of the Forum Universale of the Cultures is held. The title of the dialogue has been "to Tell the South of the world." 
The cultural walk of tall value that will accompany us up to 2013 is continued with the inauguration March 11 th 2010 near the center of the Forum Universale of the Cultures, the ex Asilo Filangieri, of the show "Luigi's Einaudi inheritance: the birth of republican Italy and the construction of Europe."
 
The appointments of this year will be the third Workshop of administrators and local authorities, programmed for the month of June, that will have as themes culture and knowledge; the presence in Shangai of the Universal Forum of Cultures during the Universal Expo, in September; the participation to the third edition of the Forum that will be held from October 22nd 2010 to January 7th 2011 in Valparaiso, Chile.
